I have ordered a box of m2.5 standoffs and some m2.5*4+6, lets see how it works out. I also figured that if you flip the Pimoroni base over, you can mount it as a hat with the right standoffs. Then you can use the Geekworm P579 case as well. That might be a better option to keep all the parts cool, as the NVMe won't be squeezed up close to the Pi5 board. Thanks for your help Lisa.)

Used the rpi-clone fork from Jeff Geerling to copy a fresh Bookworm install onto the SSD. 740 MB/s write and 780 MB/s read for a 1GB file in 10 blocks of 100MB each. With PCIe3 enabled tho)

On the other hand, even if I am able to run and control my fan, even at low speeds it's very loud. I tried changing some values in the x-c1-fan.sh script and the fan responded but it never got "silent" like it used to be. I remember it being very silent, especially at low speeds. And yes, my Pi5 is working great with the X1001 and a 1TB 2280 SDD. The dtparam=pciex1_gen=3 has been set and the microSD has been removed. So I don't really need the extra power connector, but it should have been included anyways just to be on the safe side.)

I noticed I did not have the problem if the device was outside of the case (Geekworm P579-V2-K). I tried adding some electrical tape to the inside of the case (per Q4), but that didn't make a difference. However, I noticed that, when the pi was installed in the case, the FCC cable was being pressed against the inside of case, which caused it to bend some and appeared to cause...)

It behaves as though the drive has being disconnected, but the blue light is still on when this happens. I have re-seated the FCC cable on both ends a few times. It seems to be seated fully and securely. Also, the drive is typically recognized (at least momentarily)...)

The os version is new one:OS Version: Raspberry OS 6.6.26-v8+ With the new gpiolib the script read_fan_speed.py starts successful but "0 RPM" is not what i want to see :-) Before i use the new documentation to install i try to install everything with the deprecated tutorial, may be this can be the problem ...
