  • 03:54, 2 November 2020 77.99.35.70 talk posted a new comment on X835 (Hi there, I've got an X835, Raspberry Pi 4B with a WD 2.5" 2TB SATA. Raspberry Pi is up and running with Raspbian (w/ OpenMediaVault running) and fully updated/upgraded. However, my Raspberry Pi is not detecting the SATA drive. It is NTFS formatted but I've confirmed that ntfs-3g (i.e FUSE) is present and up to date. When I disconnect it from my Pi and connect to my Win 10 machine (still inside the X835) it immediately mounts on the Win 10 machine, so I know power and the drive aren't issues....)
  • 02:37, 2 November 2020 5.69.55.218 talk posted a new comment on X835 (got two x835 which work without problems until to day when I was converting them to use USB Boot option on the PI4,Followed the instruction which are on the is wiki. There is a problem when the HDD are 4TB in size the "SD Card copier" fails when it trys to partition 256 and the rest of the drive, the second partion fails to write. (I have the though that there is a 2tb limit) Will try this on the Rasberry Pi org as a problem.)
  • 02:09, 2 November 2020 5.69.55.218 talk posted a new comment on Does the X825/X855 support USB boot (watch out for the minor problem with above link "how to boot ...." this links to tom's hardware but the option for the USB boot if using the latest raspi-config is under option 6 not 3)
  • 04:53, 1 November 2020 178.255.168.219 talk posted a new comment on X835 (Hello! I am using Raspberry Pi 4B (booting from sd card) with a single X835 board and WD blue 3.5" HDD. I have two questions: 1) Is there a way how to configure the system to spin down the HDD (stop its rotation) when inactive for certain time? Currently, the HDD is only used rarely, but it keeps spinning forever. 2) What is the proper way to shut down the system? When I shut down the Pi ($ sudo shutdown -h now), the red PWR LED on the Pi is lit (on) - this is probably normal. The problem...)

  • 08:07, 29 October 2020 47.17.97.226 talk posted a new comment on UPS3 (The UPS hat stops charging the battery once the main power is reconnected. If I shutdown the raspberry Pi and restart HAT either with push button or with the auto-power switch, only then SOC% start increasing in the log(battery really starts charging). Details below: Steps & Observation: 1. Raspberry Pi powered via HAT and battery is charging, log file shows SOC% going up. 2. Power is disconnected from HAT USB-C 3. Raspberry Pi still remains operational as expected. log file shows SOC% dropp...)

  • 11:33, 25 October 2020 73.77.166.54 talk posted a new comment on X708-Hardware (Directly on the X708 no, the fan is connected directly to power. You could setup a mosfet and use a GPIO pin to toggle if the fan is on or not though.)
  • 11:28, 25 October 2020 73.77.166.54 talk posted a new comment on X708-Hardware (Did some poking around and the pin for the female side PLD was not soldered well. I soldered it using a soldering iron and the problem with the PLD was resolved, so I resoldered every pin on both sides of the board. Looks like along with poor documentation Geekworm also has some quality control problems.)
  • 10:19, 25 October 2020 73.77.166.54 talk posted a new comment on X708-Hardware (I added sudo in front of /etc/x728pwr.sh & in /etc/rc.local and now the momentary switch seems to be working as expected. Also note that the pin descriptions under section 3 above are incorrect. Pin 1 is the NO pin of your momentary switch, Pin 2 is ground or common for the switch, pin 3 is ground for the LED in the switch and pin 4 is +V for the LED in the switch. Pin 1 is the farthest pin from the fan. I found out that the pin to let the Pi know if AC power is good or not was not working...)
  • 07:12, 25 October 2020 174.235.10.190 talk posted a new comment on X708-Hardware (I am having the same problem. The pld python script also does not detect when I unplug AC power. I'm running on a raspberry pi 4 (2018 model) with 4gb of ram. And I used the latest full version of raspberry pi is from today October 24th 2020.) Tags: Mobile web edit, Mobile edit
  • 05:24, 25 October 2020 73.180.6.57 talk posted a new comment on X710 (The software install seems to be trashed. I'm getting something about the website being for sale in the x710.sh file when running the script. I was downloading this to get the momentary switch to work correctly although probably don't need it. Momentary switch with no pins jumpered doesn't reboot or soft shutdown. Only power on and hard power off.)

  • 00:33, 24 October 2020 99.4.122.1 talk posted a new comment on P173 (It would be nice to have the photos illustrating the installation available here - as well as on the Amazon site. All in all, I think that this is a very nice product, and I recommend it, especially for those who don't want to deal with fans.)

(under the raspberry pi) 4- how much TB can support board X835? Thanks)
  • 23:31, 17 October 2020 174.112.226.150 talk posted a new comment on X828 (What is the USB Controller in use, as shown by lsusb? Also, is it using the UAS protocol, as shown in the Driver output of 'lsusb -t'? I just want to be sure before ordering. My plan is to use it for a NAS, and your solution looks excellent, including the two drive case.)
  • 05:39, 16 October 2020 Indigoson talk contribs posted a new comment on X708 (FWIW, I'm using a married set of LG HG2s (married here just means that they've always been used together, never as individual cells; it's likely unimportant here, as the power draw is minimal). These are unprotected, high-capacity, high-drain LiON batteries that can be had at places like IMRbatteries dot com for a few bucks a pop. Highly recommended.)
  • 16:54, 15 October 2020 194.183.173.58 talk posted a new comment on X835 (What is the maximum amount of hdd I can connect to rpi 4 using X835 borads, do I also need to upgrade power supply if use a lot of disks like for example 5+, if yes what is the most convenient way to do so.)
  • 00:39, 9 October 2020 Ok4rm talk contribs posted a new comment on Raspi UPS HAT Board (And one modification. When the USB cable is connecte to a PC, LED1+2 are on and LED3+4 flash, about twice per second.)
  • 00:30, 9 October 2020 Ok4rm talk contribs posted a new comment on Raspi UPS HAT Board (Does not work. Let me describe again. When UPS is stand-alone: 1. after connecting battery, all four LEDs light and never go off 2. after connecting USB cable, LED1+2 flash, after 1 sec all four LED are on, then 1 sec all LEDs go off. 3. battery does not charge When connected to Pi Zero: - everything same as above, but I can read voltage. - it does not charge, anyway)
  • 00:26, 9 October 2020 Hierophant talk contribs posted a new comment on 5 inch HDMI GPIO Touch Screen (Will this work directly to a pi zero w please?)
  • 00:19, 9 October 2020 193.86.27.15 talk posted a new comment on Raspi UPS HAT Board (Does not work. When I connect it to micro USB, LED1+2 switch on, after ~1 sec LED3+4 go on, after yet another ~1 sec all LEDs switch off, and so on... Cannot find any description what this means. When I connect it to RasPi Zero W: I can measure voltage, it works as UPS, but the battery slowly discharges and no charging.)
