  • 22:37, 31 May 2024 93.200.232.153 talk posted a new comment on X728 (After a battery failure I had to replace the battery in X728. But now the red led and three of the four green battery status leds are blinking. This does not happen without PI, but my PI is unchanged .. PI is starting up normally, but the shutdown hook "xSoft.sh" also does not shutdown the PI, but reboots. Is the GPIO circuit damaged somehow ?)
  • 18:49, 31 May 2024 Harry talk contribs posted a new comment on X729-script (Thank you for your detailed correction. I just modified x728-script to x729-script, and modifed x79off to x729off also. I did remove the command to create the alias x729off in the install-sss.sh script yesterday, because I found that this command would fail to execute in some Linux environments, and it has happened several times. Now this command needs to be executed manually. I have put it on the wiki page. I tried to explain why the file on github is incorrect. It is really frustrating t...)

  • 18:57, 30 May 2024 47.156.97.86 talk posted a new comment on X729-script (There is no 'install-ssh.sh script in the Repo linked. Its 'install-sss.sh' and that script makes reference to the X728 instead of X729. I know its just a PRINT statement for user notification but it creates some confusion. Line 9 of that script is also commented out so it doesnt actually create the ALIAS to shutdown the pi and poweroff the UPS. '#echo "alias x79off='sudo /usr/local/bin/xSoft.sh 0 26'" >> ~/.bashrc' and the Alias its supposed to create is missing the 2 from x729, so tell...)
  • 15:51, 30 May 2024 Lisa talk contribs posted a new comment on X1002 (Hi,You can force it to Gen 3.0 (10 GT/sec). The Raspberry Pi 5 is not certified for Gen 3.0 speeds, and connections to PCIe devices at these speeds may be unstable. The Raspberry Pi Foundation is not responsible for PCIe 3.0 either, so we can't guarantee that every user can use PCIe3.0, because it doesn't depend on this expansion board.Hope to get your understanding.)
  • 15:33, 30 May 2024 Harry talk contribs posted a new comment on X729-script (Thanks. I have update 'install-ssh-v1.sh' to install-ssh.sh' on wiki, could you tell more detai. And we did test the x729 script on pi 5 and pi 4.)
  • 15:10, 30 May 2024 Harry talk contribs posted a new comment on X729-script (Refer to https://github.com/raspberrypi/linux/issues/6037, You can change it with other gpio liberary such as gpiod. We just provide the sample code, so if you are new to this, ignore it.)

  • 04:58, 30 May 2024 84.50.45.201 talk posted a new comment on X1002 (How come the last part here states the PIP has nothing to do with Gen3 support, yet the included instructions for the X1002 board states, in bold red letters "DO NOT use PCIe 3.0"?)
  • 03:31, 30 May 2024 144.223.86.230 talk posted a new comment on X1202 (Is it possible to turn off the 5V output on the XH2.54-2P ports or the USB-A connectors when the pi5 is shutdown? I want to use them to power an LCD display and speakers but they continue to draw power when the pi is shut off.)

  • 22:10, 29 May 2024 Harry talk contribs posted a new comment on X1004 (Since X1004 is using [https://www.asmedia.com.tw/product/213yQcasx8gNAzS4/b7FyQBCxz2URbzg0 ASMedia ASM1182e] PCIe switch, it can't support PCIe Gen 3 speed, so even though we forced to turn on PCIe Gen 3.0 setting in Raspberry Pi 5, it is limited by ASMedia ASM1182e PCIe switch. speed is still PCIe Gen 2.0 speed.)

Worked with USB, didn't work with the NVMe hat. Originally would boot very slow, and couldn't reliably launch a terminal, or a web browser at all. System would freeze or go to gray screen/black screen. Booted with the drive in a USB enclosure and went to raspi-config and loaded new bootloader/firmware through the advanced options, reinstalled the drive into the hat and now boots fine, fast, and can lau...)
