Overview

The X710 is a power management expansion board for all current models of the Raspberry Pi using a 40-pin header. It provides 5A of continuous output current over a wide 6V to 36V operating input range with excellent load and line regulation,intelligent and safe power management, safe shutdown and full poweroff through software, and a low noise cooling fan which enables the use of the Raspberry Pi in extreme conditions including very high temperature environments. The X710 also reserves the 40-pin header that can be stacked with other Raspberry Pi accessory boards for enhanced applications.

Note: X710 or X715 does not support Raspberry Pi 5.

NOTES
  • - Full poweroff through software is not supported when using external latching power switch

The X710 was directly connected to a 37VDC battery through the DC Jack without being placed on the top of a PI 4. Then, the X710 board was burn. I had a spark on it.

Could you tell me what happend on it?

On the XH2.54 power input header, which pin should be DC-in and which should be ground? Same for the barrel connector?

If power is applied from the USB-C connector on the Pi4 instead of from the mounted X710, will the Pi4 or X710 be damaged?

The software install seems to be trashed. I'm getting something about the website being for sale in the x710.sh file when running the script. I was downloading this to get the momentary switch to work correctly although probably don't need it. Momentary switch with no pins jumpered doesn't reboot or soft shutdown. Only power on and hard power off.

I am having difficulty in finding this --- XH2.54 --- power switch connector. I can match the 2 pin connectors on the board but not the power switch connector (4 pin) Please help.

Great board. One little convenience is that if you have something in the same enclosure that needs to share the input voltage (in my case, it's a 12V USB hub) you can use the other input voltage connector - it's parallel with the power socket, and is NOT switched.

Hello

I received the X710 board, connected to my RaspPi4B, installed the software as recommended above and unfortunately could not make it fully functional: ON works, OFF power cut does too (after 8 sec of holding a button); safe shut down DOES NOT. Any help would be much appreciated!

The other thing I like about this board is, if I want to run 12V,15V,etc. accessories,up to your input voltage at a later time, it gives you that ability too. THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX!

AWESOME LITTLE BOARD!!!!!!!!!!!!

With a good power supply you, can effectively provide a constant 5V with up to 17A of usage. I'm using a Dell power supply that provides 19.2 volts and 4.62 amps. The x735 board will STOP supplying enough power at 3 extra HDs, documentation says, ADD MORE POWER SUPPLIES AFTER 3 for the x735. We can put on 6 x828, x825, etc. boards with this supply and run a HUGE family cloud server, if thats what you want to do. The x735 is easier for the masses to understand and use, but I'd recommend this x710 for ANY serious POWER USER.....hehe
