In fact it was my raspberry pi 5 which was falty ! I tried with a new one and everything is now working. Sorry for incriminating your hat !)
  • 17:38, 9 April 2026 Ruby talk contribs performed unknown action "comments/add" on X1001 (Hi, ①The ACT LED lights up solid when the X1001 is powered on, indicating normal power/standby status. ②It flashes when the SSD is reading or writing data. ③There used to be a dedicated PCIe LED that stayed on when the SSD was detected. However, it was removed to comply with the official PCIe specification from the Raspberry Pi Foundation.)

  • 17:21, 9 April 2026 Ruby talk contribs performed unknown action "comments/add" on X1001 (First, we don't recommend using high-end controllers on PCIe Gen 2.0 platforms. On one hand, it results in performance overkill; on the other, a few controllers are not backward compatible with PCIe Gen 2, which can easily cause instability and compatibility problems. Second, an unrecognized SSD does not always mean a compatibility issue—other factors may be at play. You can try these troubleshooting steps: :①The FFC cable only provides a maximum of 5W power, which is insufficient for SSDs...)

  • 23:16, 1 April 2026 90.116.144.206 talk performed unknown action "comments/add" on X1001 (Hello ! Yes I saw that Crutial had a Phison, so I tries with a Samsung SSD 990 Pro NVMe M.2 Pcle 4.0 and got the exact same results. which does not have a Phison controller. But maybe, for some reason, it's not supported either ?)
  • 17:03, 1 April 2026 Ruby talk contribs performed unknown action "comments/add" on X1001 (Sorry for the late reply. The main problem is compatibility. Your Crucial P310 is a PCIe Gen4 SSD with a Phison controller that cannot work at lower speeds, so the Raspberry Pi 5's native PCIe port cannot detect it. The X100x is just a PCIe adapter, which only changes the port shape and does not affect compatibility at all. The real issue is that this SSD does not work with the Raspberry Pi 5 itself. We recommend using another SSD that fully supports the Raspberry Pi 5’s native PCIe interf...)

The pcie rubbon is well placed, the ssd has been tested on another pc and works fine, it's well plug in the hat. The blue LED light stays on and the config on my rasp seem fine (dtparam=pciex1, dtparam=nvme added to /boot/firmware/config.txt) Even with all this the nvme does not want to be detected. Nothing in lsblk. Do I miss somethin...)

  • 22:17, 4 July 2025 49.192.144.55 talk performed unknown action "comments/add" on X1001 (Hi, I'm trying to clone my same size 2TB old USB SSD drive to the NVME PCIe Gen4 drive on a Raspberry Pi 5 using the RaspbianOS "SD Card Copier". The drive has 6 small partitions and one large one with about 1.5TB. The cloning creates all partitions just fine, it also boots from the new drive but it copies only about 60GB from the large partition. I tried the cloning again and the same thing happened but this time I could briefly see a message pop up during the cloning process saying tha...)

Is setting this alright or discouraged? If the latter, why?)

  • 03:21, 4 June 2025 93.202.155.183 talk performed unknown action "comments/add" on X1001 (I used this HAT on a Pi 5 with a crucial P3 Plus PCIe 4.0 M.2 2280 2TB for months. With no reason the SSD isn't booting anymore. When I use a SSD USB adapter the Pi boots fine from SSD again, so it seems that the HAT is broken after 6 months. What could be the cause? How to avoid?)
  • 18:29, 3 June 2025 Lisa talk contribs performed unknown action "comments/add" on X1001 (Hello, 1/What brand of SSD are you using? Please refer to here:NVMe SSD boot with the Raspberry Pi 5 to troubleshoot the following issues first. 2/If it is confirmed that the problem is caused by insufficient power supply, you can use a 2pin cable with an XH2.54 connector to connect the RPi5 GPIO to the 5V IN port.)
  • 15:39, 1 June 2025 172.58.114.209 talk performed unknown action "comments/add" on X1001 (Hello, I bought Geekworm X1001 PCIe to M.2 HAT from Amazon. I find that after an hour or so of use, I am getting I/O errors in my Raspberry PI 5 in the ssh terminal and all the UI on the screen freezes and disappears/ fails to launch. You have mentioned that it is possible to provide the HAT with extra power via XH2.54 5V power connector on the HAT. Can you pls explain how I go about doing that? What cable to use to connect to it and where should I connect that other end to source the power?)

My nvme gets detected but acts funny on boot and throws errors. You have sent me a shorter orange FFC cable. Is this correct? In all the videos i've seen people are using a gray connector which is slightly longer as well.)
  • 16:34, 19 February 2025 45.88.97.67 talk performed unknown action "comments/add" on X1001 (Yes, metal case, so I removed it. The problems are less, but are still there. The only solution so far: switch off the WiFi and everything is good.)

  • 21:46, 14 February 2025 216.24.216.37 talk performed unknown action "comments/add" on X1001 (Doesn't run when WiFi is enabled. If WiFi sends data at the same time and is written on the SSD, there are serious errors in the files and the file system, up to a complete failure of the whole disk. Another time the file system was completely destroyed. I switched off WiFi, inserted LAN cable, and everything works well. But if you need Wifi .... Pi 5 with Patriot M.2 P320 256GB.)

  • 12:07, 20 January 2025 24.211.221.158 talk performed unknown action "comments/add" on X1001 (Thanks! This fixed random I/O errors I was experiencing with a WD_BLACK SN770 SSD and a Raspberry Pi 5. The symptoms were similar to that of "Anonymous user #20". It would boot fine but soon after some paging errors would appear in the journal and commands would fail with I/O errors (or it would just say command not found). Booted using an SD card temporarily, ran rpi-update, and booted back into the SSD. Everything works normally now.)
  • 04:51, 18 January 2025 174.54.172.229 talk performed unknown action "comments/add" on X1001 (I had the 2TB Samsung 980 Pro working great until I added a pi 5 cooler. After that it no longer recognized the drive. Blue light stays on, but no boot and lspci shows nothing connected. Put the drive in a usb enclosure and it boots fine from that. Very confused why this is. I guess I'll try another drive soon.)

The P300 seems to exist in different versions with different controllers. One with a black circuit board and a Phison E13T controller, and one with a blue board and a SMI 2263XT controller.)

So what else should cause this issue, as the SSD could not be accessed by the system anymore?)
