- Useful communication board supporting the RS232 serial protocol
- Control the Raspberry Pi over RS232 or connect to external serial accessories
- Connected to the UART port on the Raspberry Pi using a MAX3232 interface
- Allowing communication with RS232 compatible devices over a DB9 serial cable or with the use of a null-modem cable
- Allowing terminal access with linux on the Raspberry Pi using a terminal application
- The RS232 port can be accessed through the DB9 port or the screw terminals on the PCB
- Battery backed real-time clock module for the Raspberry Pi
- Keeps track of the time while the Raspberry Pi is switched off
- Allows the Raspberry Pi to retrieve the current date and time when it is switched back on
- Uses the most precise DS3231 RTC real time clock and a CR2032 battery to maintain the date and time
- Perfect for datalogging, clock-building, time stamping, timers and alarms, etc.
- Stackable with other Raspberry Pi accessory boards
- A coin cell is required to use the battery-backup capabilities! We don't include one by default, to make shipping easier for those abroad
