==Features==
* Useful communication board supporting the RS232 serial protocol
* Control the Raspberry Pi over RS232 or connect to external serial accessories
* Connected to the UART port on the Raspberry Pi using a MAX3232 interface
* Allowing communication with RS232 compatible devices over a DB9 serial cable or with the use of a null-modem cable
* Allowing terminal access with linux on the Raspberry Pi using a terminal application
* The RS232 port can be accessed through the DB9 port or the screw terminals on the PCB
* Battery backed real-time clock module for the Raspberry Pi
* Keeps track of the time while the Raspberry Pi is switched off
* Allows the Raspberry Pi to retrieve the current date and time when it is switched back on
* Uses the most precise DS3231 RTC real time clock and a CR2032 battery to maintain the date and time
* Perfect for datalogging, clock-building, time stamping, timers and alarms, etc.
* Stackable with other Raspberry Pi accessory boards
* A coin cell is required to use the battery-backup capabilities! We don't include one by default, to make shipping easier for those abroad
