I would have expected that the manual would contain software instructions on how to format/configure the drive (mine originally showed up as /dev/sdb. I figured it out by Googling until I found this: https://thep...minal-window and https://gist...c80579872e5f
I also had too much interference with wifi. Extending the unit away from the Pi with the cable helped but then I found a Crucial M500 at a thrift shop, got another interface cable, set it up for SSD boot on RPi3B+ and have not gotten around to putting this msata shield on another pi yet. Will use if for storage only. Dumb touch to have a USB 3.0 marketed for Raspberry Pi's that don't have usb 3.0 and it is not compatible with the RPi 4B.
