① First, my apologies — my earlier reply was not professional enough. The X1004 uses the ASMedia ASM1182e PCIe switch, which only supports PCIe Gen 2.0 (5Gbps) and does NOT support PCIe Gen 3.0 speeds. This may lead to certain compatibility issues.

② Recommended compatible SSDs:

  • Models with good PCIe Gen 2.0 compatibility and power consumption under 3.5A (5V) per drive.

Examples: Samsung 980, Western Digital SN570 / SN530 / SN750 SE. (Note: These SSDs have not been lab-tested on our end; recommendations are based on user feedback and compatibility logic. Please use your own judgment.)
