@Lisa of course I already restarted, tried a different FCC, and even a different Raspberry Pi 5B. Took off all the harddrives and just had the naked shield connected - controller was not recognized in any of these cases.

I just want to know what could have possibly caused this so I know whether to replace the broken one with a new one or migrate to another solution instead that doesn't involve an X1009.
