  • 18:49, 21 January 2025 192.122.132.233 talk posted a new comment on NVMe SSD boot with the Raspberry Pi 5 (How did you achieve such a high read/write speed? Are you using x1005 or which SSD hat?)
  • 18:46, 21 January 2025 192.122.132.233 talk posted a new comment on NVMe SSD boot with the Raspberry Pi 5 (I managed to make it work. But the performance I am getting might not the best. I have seen a comment here showing 900MB+ speed, but I am getting 400- MB only. Is there a way to optimize this? I set the pciex1_gen=3, and updated to the latest firmware.)
  • 13:38, 21 January 2025 211.30.159.146 talk posted a new comment on X1201 (I recently purchased the x1201 for my Pi5 and When using the “sudo i2cdetect -y 1” command I get nothing, 1 doesn’t exist for me, I can only detect 11 and 12 and they do not show the 0x36 address. I have checked all pin connections with a multimeter and they are all making good contact. What else could it be? Thanks) Tags: Mobile web edit, Mobile edit
  • 13:22, 21 January 2025 66.235.15.173 talk posted a new comment on X1202 (I was wrong. On further testing, I think the GPIO16 driven high does disable the charger and does not continue raising the battery voltage. I previously incorrectly assumed two things: 1. I thought the board design would always be running the pi5 from battery voltage. This would be a simple "dual conversion" setup. Instead, the board appears to not run the pi5 from battery voltage when sufficient input power is available, even if the charger is disabled. This is great. 2. I incorrectly...)
  • 12:03, 21 January 2025 66.235.15.173 talk posted a new comment on X1202 (For completeness, I also tried both the USB-C x1202 input, and 12V into the DC input on the x1202. This didn't make any difference; the charging continued despite driving GPIO16 high and despite the CHG LED being off. The board seems to work well aside from not turning the charging off when GPIO16 is driven high.)
  • 11:06, 21 January 2025 66.235.15.173 talk posted a new comment on X1202 (On my x1202, driving GPIO16 high, the charging LED stops blinking (so the pogo pin is making contact with HW pin 36), but the actual charging doesn't stop. I have tried with the pin set as input with both "pull up" and "pull down", and with the pin set as output and driving it high vs low. Pulled high or driven high, the CHG LED stops blinking, but ... battery volts continue increasing until ~4.15V. Overall, I'm not sure if turning the charger on and off to zig-zag near a lower voltage is a...)

  • 00:18, 21 January 2025 81.197.7.236 talk posted a new comment on X728-hardware (I'm using following code for shutdown: GPIO.output(GPIO_PORT, GPIO.HIGH) time.sleep(3) GPIO.output(GPIO_PORT, GPIO.LOW) I have auto power-on jumper inserted. Why do I have to cycle power twice to turn the Raspberry back on?)

  • 12:07, 20 January 2025 24.211.221.158 talk posted a new comment on X1001 (Thanks! This fixed random I/O errors I was experiencing with a WD_BLACK SN770 SSD and a Raspberry Pi 5. The symptoms were similar to that of "Anonymous user #20". It would boot fine but soon after some paging errors would appear in the journal and commands would fail with I/O errors (or it would just say command not found). Booted using an SD card temporarily, ran rpi-update, and booted back into the SSD. Everything works normally now.)
  • 23:53, 19 January 2025 213.125.50.74 talk posted a new comment on NVMe SSD boot with the Raspberry Pi 5 (I've been using a WD Blue SN580, as marked as solved in the top of this topic. Anonymous12 writes after updating eeprom it al works. For me this was NOT the case for my WD SN580. Even after upgrading to latest jan 2025 eeprom the drive does not run stable. Yes it boots now, and from time to time seems to work. But after some time you see numerous I/O errors which makes the drive completely inaccessible. It never runs for more than 24 hours, requiring a reboot for it to start working again. T...)

  • 04:51, 18 January 2025 174.54.172.229 talk posted a new comment on X1001 (I had the 2TB Samsung 980 Pro working great until I added a pi 5 cooler. After that it no longer recognized the drive. Blue light stays on, but no boot and lspci shows nothing connected. Put the drive in a usb enclosure and it boots fine from that. Very confused why this is. I guess I'll try another drive soon.)
  • 15:57, 17 January 2025 194.88.96.84 talk posted a new comment on X728 (Having followed your advice in reply to #73, the battery capacity. Only goes up to 80% and then once it reaches this it begins to drop! I also have an X1202 and the same batteries but this goes up to 100% and takes 10-12 hours to discharge. The x728 with the same batteries is taking only 1-2 hours from 80% (max it seems to go to) to discharge to 0.) Tags: Mobile web edit, Mobile edit
  • 03:32, 17 January 2025 81.56.119.189 talk posted a new comment on WEMOS ESP32 Board with 18650 Battery Holder (The documents are useless are they are generic about the chips and there is no schematic for this specific board model. Anyways if anybody needs, the only way is via voltage divider to ADC pin (GPIO32 to 39) using two 100K Ohm resistors... the voltage can be calculated using the formula: (readAnalog(pin) / 4095) * 3.3 * 2 (also adding a fixed value to calibrate the result is suggested, based on measurements with multimeter))

  • 18:12, 13 January 2025 80.11.191.233 talk posted a new comment on CSI Manual on Pi 5 (Issue solved. On Raspberry Pi 5 with Media controller API 6.6.62, the C779 MIPI CSI-2-TX must be connected on the CAM/DISP 1 port as specified from the device tree. Afterwards, a proper EDID file must be loaded on the properly created subdev to be visible by the HDMI-TX source. Example: v4l2-ctl -d /dev/v4l-subdev2 --set-edid=file=edid.txt --fix-edid-checksums)

  • 01:47, 13 January 2025 194.88.96.79 talk posted a new comment on X728 (Can you help me understand why brand new batteries (Panasonic 3400mah) 18650 (4 of them, 2 in the extra battery pack with the case) are showing no more than 90% capacity. The same batteries in the x1202 case with a Raspberry pi5 are showing 99/100% capacity. They share the same source of power which has well in excess of what’s needed. Just wondering if there’s a calibration needed or some other settings to get the number correct.) Tags: Mobile web edit, Mobile edit

I followed all steps. - Installed bookworm raspbian on SD card (system boots) - enable PCIe in /boot/firmware/config.txt via adding dtparam=pciex1_gen=3 - eeprom is updated to the latest 2024 Nov version Nothing was working up to this point. Then I edited the eeprom settings via ``` sudo rpi-eeprom-config --edit ``` and added PCIE_PROBE=1. Still nothing is working, i don't see anything in `dmesg` output or in `lspci`. • 03:12, 11 January 2025 75.28.21.198 talk posted a new comment on 2.8 inch Touch Screen for Pi zero (For Raspbian Bookworm (the most recent) you should be able to just add the following to your config.txt: dtoverlay=vc4-kms-dpi-panel,mzp280,rotate=270 dtoverlay=spi0-0cs dtoverlay=ads7846,penirq=27,xmin=200,xmax=3850,ymin=200,ymax=3850 The first dtoverlay to add vc4-kms-dpi-panel is required to bring up the display itself and requires us to also enable vc4-kms-v3d (which I think is the default now anyway). The second dtoverlay allows us to use the SPI bus without a CS pin (which is taken cu...)
