Hello, is the X728 compatible with the X715? How are they connected? Do they need an external power cable between them? Would you share a block diagram or schematic to verify that there are no issues between these boards?

Thank you

Hello,The X728 can support the X715. Mount the X728 on top of the X715;need a 2*20 Pin Female Header to increase the height, and need spacers of the appropriate height to hold the X715 in place. We do not recommend this and suggest you consider the X729 if you want to use a UPS that supports wide voltage inputs.

Can you please provide details what each GPIO does (instead of just writing "Power Management")?

I could figure out from some forum posts, that when GPIO12 goes low, the x728 should power down with some delay. In my case this is not working. The aim is to power down the Raspberry safely via "poweroff" and then cut the power.

Again details to the funciton of the GPIOs would be great. Like for example "Pulling GPIO26 high for 2s cuts the power". Otherwise its guesswork from the scripts.

Do they use a different setting for "over-discharge" battery voltages or something? I can't find V2.1 boards for sale anymore, so is the discharge level "hackable" on the V2.5?

If so, that brings a whole new realm of possibilities with combining other power supply hats and using one of these as a dedicated fallback, if I'm understanding correctly.

Believe us, it is really difficult to choose which GPIO to use. It seems that we have no other GPIO to use. No matter which GPIO we choose, it may not satisfy everyone. Thank you for raising a new requirement. The X728 has undergone at least 5 revisions, and there is no way to satisfy all users, just like chatGPTb, which is in full swing, cannot satisfy everyone. To operate an additional SD Card Reader we need to use hardware SPI interface, Raspi has two. SPI1 is hard wired to pins 35, 38, 40 for MISO/MOSI/SCLK, which cant be changed.

Right now I am trying to find out a pin layout where I have no collisions. The problem is we have to use I2C, 4 different UARTs, SPI and X728 at the same time + MIPI touchscreen...

Hi dear, tks for your effort , 1. AC POWER LOSS has GPIO detection, it can be shut down after detection; 2. Pls plug in the shorting cap to get the AUTO-ON function, 3. If you'd like to send a signal to tell the UPS only provide backup power for x amount of seconds ,pls develop your own script to get the functions.

4.By the way ,There are many Raspberry Pi fans exchange experiences on our official website, you are welcome to join us https://geek...munity/forum

Clarify please feature "Auto-On". Here is scenario: 1. Software detect AC-power loss. 2. Software gracefully shutdown RPi (battery still charged!). 3. AC-reapplied.

Will be RPi turned automatically on?

Your question seems to be contradictory. . . .

The scenario is this. Basically you want to use the UPS as a means of graceful software shutdown.

1. On AC Power Loss -> graceful software shutdown 2. On AC Power Gain -> boot raspberry Pi

I cant seem to find a configuration that will allow you to use the UPS in this way.

Is there a way you could send a signal to tell the UPS only provide backup power for x amount of seconds? This would allow for an AC power controlled graceful shutdown and boot.

Can I power the X825 board as well as the RPi4B from the X728? How do I connect it?

Hello sir,

When use the X728 with X825 board, please power from X725, do not power from X825 or Raspberry Pi 4.

One more question: why can't I use protected 18650 batteries? They are more safe, aren't they?

I bought the X825/X735 set with case and power supply a short time ago and now want to replace the X735 by the X728. Is this possible? It will not fit in the case anymore though and the cooling fan will be gone, so what is the best solution to avoid overheating?

How could one write a script to trigger the x728off code to run in the event of a Power Loss Detection

Pin assignments for the jumpers are printed on the underside of the board at least! :

From the Power jack end : AON (Auto On) PLD (Power loss detection) ASD (Auto shutdown)

to nearest the USB-C Connector

No, correction, it reads thus :

From the Power jack end : PLD (Power loss detection)

AON (Auto On) is the middle pair.

ASD (Auto shutdown)

is nearest the USB-C Connector.
