Overview

This esp32 wifi + bluetooth with 18650 battery sharging system development tool provides a perfect solution for the situation you often encountered: When you do some ESP32 projects you must hate to add a power bank to provide the power.

ESP32 is highly-integrated with in-built antenna switches, RF balun, power amplifier, low-noise receive amplifier, filters, and power management modules. ESP32 adds priceless functionality and versatility to your applications with minimal Printed Circuit Board (PCB) area requirements.

Functionality

  • A LG 3000mAH 18650 battery could make ESP32run 17 hours or more.
  • 18650 charging system integrated.
  • indicate LED inside(Green means full& Red means charging)
  • Charging and working could be at the same time.
  • with Switch to control power.
  • 1 extra LED could be programmed(Connected with GPIO16[D0])
  • 0.5A charging current, Max. 1A output
  • Over charge protection
  • Over discharge protection
  • Full ESP32 pins break out

Quais os pinos PWM?

This board uses the ESP32-wroom-32 chip, so you can use the pinout diagram of that chip to identify the PWM pins.

Short answer: p34 and p35 (also SVP/SVN) are NOT PWM

Hi, has anybody found a voltage divider embeded to this board which is connected to vbat? I would rather not to solder additional one if there is one already. Thanks in advance for help.

Hello, when this board is powered by 18650, the VIN 5V pin cannot output 5V?

The VIN 5V output only works when USB is plugged

If powered by an 18650 battery, the VIN 5V pin also outputs 5V

Hi Walker, thanks for the reply. Does the board have DC to DC boost? I don't see there is boost. If no, how come 18650 battery powered could output 5V? Thank you

Hello, there should be a boost module, because this product has not been sold for a long time, and some information about the product can not be provided

Hi, here is huge (-) in DC-DC inverter part, diodes and boost IC heating is to high, hot to touch, large ammount of energy going to heat.

I would like to monitor charge current and battery voltage. Do you have a schematic of the board? So i can see where to take my measurements.

Hello, if you don't want to use battery power supply, it depends on the voltage of the device you connect, if it is 3.3V, you can choose to connect to VIN 3.3V and GND (you can also connect to VIN 5V and GND), if it is If it is 5V, it can only be connected to VIN 5V and GND (cannot be connected to VIN 3.3V), you can refer to the following figure:

I am looking for schematics of this board. I don't understand how the battery supply is supposed to work. The 18650 can deliver 3.7V under load. The AMS1117 has a dropout voltage of 1.1V, so in order to keep the ESP32 running at 3.3V it would need at least 4.4V on the battery which is more than it has. Even at the minimum voltage for the ESP32 of 2.55V, it would still need 3.65V from the battery which means the voltage regulator would cease to work very quickly while the battery still has lots of charge remaining? I don't see any DC-DC booster or anything which would explain the riddle? Does anyone know?

I am not sure if this is helpful as it's not a very technical answer, but I have purchased and used a few of these boards (with skepticism) and the battery (even at a theoretical 3.7 though I think the 18650 charges to 4.2v or something) lasts quite a while. I have build a few different projects from them - one drove some color-changing LEDs for a while (I did not run it until the battery ran out, so I can't say how long it lasted) but another was a counting device that ran a back-lit LCD and an optical encoder for several hours at a time (at least 3 hours at a time) without running out of battery power.

As part of that project, I actually wanted to add a battery meter - I hoped that maybe there was some on-board circuitry I could use (voltage divider) and attach to an analog pin, but I don't know of any (anyone know if it's there, perhaps? I did not want to have to add a prototyping board to my project just to monitor the battery. (I can't monitor it post-voltage regulator as that will *always* be 3.3v until it isn't :-))
