Thanks! This fixed random I/O errors I was experiencing with a WD_BLACK SN770 SSD and a Raspberry Pi 5. The symptoms were similar to that of "Anonymous user #20". It would boot fine but soon after some paging errors would appear in the journal and commands would fail with I/O errors (or it would just say command not found).

Booted using an SD card temporarily, ran rpi-update, and booted back into the SSD. Everything works normally now.
