I've been using a WD Blue SN580, as marked as solved in the top of this topic. Anonymous12 writes after updating eeprom it al works.

For me this was NOT the case for my WD SN580. Even after upgrading to latest jan 2025 eeprom the drive does not run stable. Yes it boots now, and from time to time seems to work. But after some time you see numerous I/O errors which makes the drive completely inaccessible. It never runs for more than 24 hours, requiring a reboot for it to start working again. This makes it useless for Home-Assistant where it should run reliable for longer periods of time. I would still avoid this drive on an RPI5.
