@Ruby - I just tried my SSDs with an external USB container, they work fine with the Pi 5, they don't work with your boards (I've tried two different models). You say there are too many SSDs to list - I don't need a comprehensive list - just a couple would be fine. I also looked up Pi5 compatibility with SSDs and the Samsung that I tried is one that is cited as "Best Overall", albeit by AI.
