One of the features listed is "Enhanced Power Management"

However, when I turn off the rpi5, I don't see the x1203 shutting down. At the very least, LED's are still running and draining the batteries. I'm sure it would be fine for a couple days as the batteries wouldn't fully discharge, but I need the batteries to last much longer after power is removed, perhaps ~2 months. How do I enable / get the enhanced power management mentioned?
