Overview

The X15-POE1 is a dedicated Power over Ethernet (PoE) add-on board (HAT) designed for the Raspberry Pi Compute Module 5 (CM5) when used with the X1500 or X1501 IO Boards. Compliant with the IEEE 802.3af/at PoE standards, this HAT can receive up to 25W of power from a compatible PoE network switch. It delivers both reliable operating power and network connectivity to the CM5 through a single Cat5e/Cat6 cable.

Featuring an advanced dual-output design, the board supplies 5V power to the CM5 while also providing a separate 12V output to support peripherals such as fans, displays, or motors. This eliminates the need for an additional external power supply, simplifying system integration and reducing clutter.

Features

  • Standard Compliance: IEEE 802.3af & 802.3at (PoE+)
  • Input Voltage Range: 37–57V DC
  • Device Classification: Class 4
  • Dual Output Power Rails:
 # 5V DC / 5A (25W max) delivered via the 40-pin GPIO header
 # 12V DC / 2.1A (25W max) delivered via a dedicated 2-pin XH2.54 connector
  • Total maximum combined output is 25W (subject to input power limits).
  • Power Supply Topology: Fully isolated switched-mode power supply (SMPS) topology
  • Single-Cable Solution: Delivers both power and data to the CM5 through a single Ethernet cable.
  • Peripheral Power: Provides a robust, dedicated 12V output for peripherals, eliminating the need for an additional external power supply.
