In case of a failure of one of the HDDs, should I absolutely use the NASPi to read the data, or can I extract the disk and connect it to my computer with a SATA-USB adapter to read the data from there? In other words, does the controller only perform the copying and verification, or does it also add metadata and other elements to the data structure, making it impossible to read from my other machine?
