In that case, will the Raspberry Pi 5 still be able to power the X1009 over GPIO — essentially in reverse?<br /> The DC 12V 5.5x2.1mm power input would not be used in this setup.<br /> <br /> If that is not possible, then I will need to use two 12V power supplies:<br /> - one 12V power supply for the X1009 (and Raspberry Pi 5)<br /> - another 12V power supply for the HDDs.<br /> <br /> The reason I&#039;m asking is that the chip gets very hot when the X1009 is connected to the Raspberry Pi 5 and two 2.5&quot; 5400 RPM HDDs, even with a heatsink.
