In that case, will the Raspberry Pi 5 still be able to power the X1009 over GPIO — essentially in reverse?&lt;br /&gt;
The DC 12V 5.5x2.1mm power input would not be used in this setup.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
If that is not possible, then I will need to use two 12V power supplies:&lt;br /&gt;
 - one 12V power supply for the X1009 (and Raspberry Pi 5)&lt;br /&gt;
 - another 12V power supply for the HDDs.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The reason I&amp;#039;m asking is that the chip gets very hot when the X1009 is connected to the Raspberry Pi 5 and two 2.5&amp;quot; 5400 RPM HDDs, even with a heatsink.
