&lt;p&gt;&lt;b&gt;New page&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;div&gt;Important information missing as well: The power switch simply cut the power to the whole system. there is no proper shutdown of the raspberry, it is like removing the plug.&lt;br /&gt;
To turn off the raspberry in a clean way when pressing the button, I made a small circuitry with a relay that latches the poser supply and sends a power interrupt to the pi to turn it off when the button is pressed. The relay opens the power to the board once the rpi has shut.
