<p><b>New page</b></p><div>I bought a SanDisk SSD Plus 1TB Model (MDL) SDSSDA3N-1TOO and cannot get it to be recognized by my Pi-5 with an X1004, both sitting on an X1201 (UPS). I have modified the firmware config file to add the dtparam. I ran the eeprom updater, its now at the Dec 2025 version. I've done the usual apt-get update/upgrade series, too. I can access the UPS without any problems. The PCIe cable is installed with the conductors facing inward towards the hardware and I've checked its seating several times. The X1004 has an LED for each board position, I have one board installed (the SanDisk) and both LEDs are blue and steady.<br />

I have also tried a Kingston 1TB SSD, same "nothing" result.<br />

My reading tells me SSDs with a Phison controller will not work and I found SanDisk uses the Phison controller. I wanted to confirm that SanDisk drives are incompatible before replacing it since it cost over $100USD.<br />
